Our stories
deserve room.
So do we.

Minister. Entrepreneur. Author. Conversation starter.

I’m Sue, a Brooklyn native with Jamaican roots who believes in honest conversations, faith that makes room for our whole selves, and the possibility of beginning again.

Faith. Identity. Joy.

The life still being written.

Meet Sue / Brooklyn native. Still becoming.

Plenty of chapters.
More story to tell.

Minister, entrepreneur, author, and a woman with questions of her own.

I’ve spent more than 20 years asking questions and creating platforms for people to tell their stories. Today, that work lives in media, affirming ministry, and Kara Solutions.

I bring my lived experience, curiosity, and Brooklyn directness into the room. I believe people deserve to be heard, to belong, and to have enough space to actually live.

Get to know me

More than getting through

Enough space to live.
Not just manage.

What brings me joy? What deserves my energy? What comes after survival?

The story behind those questions

A Journey to the Other Side

A devotional and journaling journey about making room for life beyond survival.

More than ten years ago, I began Encouragement in 30 Seconds or Less to encourage myself after deep church hurt and the loss of key friendships. This book grows from those early words and the questions I carry today about faith, belonging, care, and joy.

Through personal reflections, wisdom from religious traditions and Black and brown thinkers, and written or audio journaling, I invite you to listen to your own life. Bring faith, doubt, or no faith at all. Prayers and nonreligious closing reflections offer different ways to participate.

30 seconds
A brief encouragement.
30 minutes
Space to reflect, journal, and practice.
30 days
A journey you can move through at your own pace.

Ministry & Advocacy

Bring your whole self.

Radical inclusion is central to my faith and practice. I serve as Associate Pastor at Rivers of Living Water Ministries, UCC, and National Minister of Youth and Young Adult Ministries for The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries.

I’m currently pursuing my Master of Divinity at Methodist Theological School in Ohio. My ministry brings together faith, culture, identity, justice, and lived experience, with a particular commitment to young people and affirming communities.
